Middle School Forensics Competition Scheduled for Thursday, March 11
2010, Mar 9 – On Thursday, March 11, the Amelia Academy Middle School Forensics Team will depart from school at 8:10 a.m. for the competition at Blessed Sacrament Huguenot. The bus will return to school at approximately 2:30 p.m. Please be sure to use the following dress code: boys should wear a sport coat or sweater with a dress shirt and tie, dress slacks (no jeans), dress shoes or nice dark shoes (no flip flops); girls should wear their best school dress (church attire), pantsuit or dress slacks may be worn for monologue (oral interpretation) only, and dress shoes (no flip flops). Practice, practice, practice and we’ll see you on Thursday ready to roll!
Middle School Lady Patriots Back-to-back Champions!
2010, Mar 5 – Our Middle School Lady Patriots are back to back champions in the Millwood League. Our team beat Central Virginia Home School 22 to 11 Thursday night in the championship basketball game. Way to play with heart and passion girls! We are so proud of you!
AA Cheerleader Receives Recognition

Southside Pride versus the Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show
2010, Feb 24 – Several members of the Academy family will be participating in the “Southside Pride” Amelia Lions Club versus the Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show on Wednesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in the Amelia County High School Gym. Come out and enjoy a night of family entertainment featuring a high energy basketball matchup. The Southside Pride is coached by Dave Robbins, VUU head men’s basketball coach, and players include many former VUU college players and our own alum, Will Femeni. Advance tickets are $6 for students and $7 for adults. Purchase tickets at Cox & Company, Dick’s Place or Amelia County High School. Donate a pair of eye glasses and get a free drink at the game. Beef Festival Committee Needs Your Help
The Beef Festival Committee needs your help and support A.S.A.P.! With the help of Alumni, patrons, parents, and students the festival has raised more than $700,000 for the Academy over the last 30 years. 2009, Dec 2 – The Student Government Organization is once again asking for your help in making Christmas a special time for a special family. This family has three children:
- Boy age 11. He wears size 10-12. He likes Jeff Gordon and racing. He likes to play with Air Hogs (action toys which can be purchased at Walmart or Target).
- Girl age 9. She wears size 10-12. She loves to read. She is a girly-girl.
- Girl age 6. She wears size 7-8. She is also a girly-girl. She likes dolls and dress up, frilly things.
Thank you all for your spirit of giving at this time of year. The families that we help are very appreciative. You make Christmas come alive for them.

Fall Festival Proceeds Go To Amelia Christmas Mother
2009, Nov 16 – As the season of giving approaches, Amelia Academy made a donation to the Amelia Christmas Mother, Mrs. Sylvia Reid, which represented the proceeds from this year's November 7 Fall Festival. Amelia Academy Students Compete in Science Fair
2009, Nov 16 – Through the fall, Amelia Academy students in grades six through nine have been developing hypotheses and testing their predictions. MS Patriots Soccer Win vs. Steward

Varsity Soccer Defeats WECS 7-2
2009, Sep 22 – Congratulations to the varsity soccer squad as they defeated West End Christian School 7-2 Tuesday, Sept. 22. Goals were scored by Chris (4), Bob, Taylor and Holt.

Amelia Academy is excited about our upcoming Book Fair from Oct. 23 to Nov. 4. An amazing selection of books is headed our way! AA wins Battle of the Brains!
2009, Sep 21 – Amelia Academy wins the first Battle of the Brains competition on Monday, Sept. 21, with a score of 220 to 140 against Thomas Jefferson High School. AA Varsity Soccer Takes Stewart with 2-1 Victory
2009, Sep 17 – Amelia Academy's Varsity Soccer team beat Steward School 2-1 (our first in school history) in their game on Thursday, Sept. 17. The team played an awesome game with Pake and Chris taking the goals. Keep watching, there's much more to come from our Varsity Soccer team.
AA Begins Varsity Soccer Season
2009, Sep 15 – Varsity soccer season began on Tuesday, September 15, as AA gave Christchurch a run for their money with the final score of 1-2. We'll get them next time guys! Check out our schedule 
Grandparents – We Love You!
2009, Sep 14 – AA celebrated Grandparents' Day with a luncheon on Monday, Sept. 14. Thanks to all for coming out and enjoying lunch with us. There was wonderful entertainment provided by the lower school, service provided by middle and upper school and scrumptious food made up special by our in-house café – YUM! Thanks again to all who visited and assisted with this grand event!
Students Remember Victims of 9/11
2009, Sep 11 – Before dawn, last Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, Amelia Academy students placed 2,993 American flags on the front lawn, each representing a life lost in the 9/11 tragedy. Later that morning, students, faculty, parents, and other local citizens held the Academy's second Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. Read more 
Volleyball Season is Underway
2009, Sep 2 – Patriot fans got a glimpse of everything we were hoping to see for the 2009-10 Volleyball season Tuesday evening. 2009, Aug 24 – While still a work in progress, we hope you like our Web site's new look. In addition to improving the site navigation, we've added a number of features to the home page: a feature image of a student, teacher or alum that will soon be accompanied by a profile story; areas for news stories and photo galleries; and an events section to keep you up-to-date on everything happening at the Academy.
