Fall Festival Proceeds Go To Amelia Christmas Mother
2009, Nov 16 – As the season of giving approaches, Amelia Academy made a donation to the Amelia Christmas Mother, Mrs. Sylvia Reid, which represented the proceeds from this year's November 7 Fall Festival. "Admission" to the event was a can of food. The annual festival is a project of the Academy's LPT (League of Parents and Teachers). Coordinators of this year's festival were Mrs. Wendy McClure and Mrs. Belinda Farnham. Mrs. McClure said that this year's theme emphasized fall-themed games for the younger AA Patriots, their friends and families.
On November 13, the Academy made a special presentation of 150 cans of food collected during the festival to Mrs. Reid for the families served by the Christmas Mother program.
The Academy is currently sponsoring a food drive to support Nana's Manna food bank at Love Covenant Fellowship and will support a needy family at Christmas again this year.
