Amelia Academy Students Compete in Science Fair

Nov. 16, 2009 – Through the fall, Amelia Academy students in grades six through nine have been developing hypotheses and testing their predictions. As seventh-grader Tyler M. said, "it [his project] was fun and interesting." The results of his and the other students' work comprise the annual Science Fair competition.

Each student created a presentation, and the judges evaluated the experiments based on originality and the elements of a scientific experiment. Ms. Neillie Midkiff, science teacher and coordinator of the Fair, said "This is an exciting way for students to put science learning into their everyday lives."

Winners were named from each class. The overall winner for this year's Fair was Paige P. Her project tested the relationship between colored dyes and drink mix.
