Amelia Academy’s Fall Festival on November 5
2011, Oct 17 – The turning leaves and cooler temperatures bring an array of community programs, including the upcoming Fall Festival of Amelia Academy. This year’s program, held November 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. on the Academy’s grounds, will feature an array of activities for all ages. Admission to the festival will be a can of food to be donated to the local food bank.
Children will enjoy gourd bowling, a cupcake walk, and toe fishing, to name a few of this year’s competitions. Corn hole tossing contests will be available for all age groups. A special highlight this year will be a rock climbing wall.
Festival attendees can choose from an assortment of fresh-baked goods, hot dogs, and nachos.
This year, a silent auction will include basket items with themes, including holiday, gardening, picnic, and first aid. There will also be kitchen and grilling items and a custom corn hole set in the auction.
The Fall Festival is an annual event for everyone in the Amelia community to enjoy, according to Wendy McClure, president of the Academy’s League of Parents and Teachers. She said, “We hope that everyone in Amelia will come out for some fun and good food, and to support our local food bank.”
