Amelia Academy Shares the News of Christmas
Students in grades pre-K through 6 presented the annual Christmas program at Amelia Academy on Saturday, December 10. The program was entitled, “Christmas Chronicles.” Mrs. Sandra Wade, the Academy’s music teacher, directed the program. Mrs. Wade dedicated the program to the memory of her mother, Cecil Saunders, who recently passed away. Mrs. Wade expressed her gratitude for her mother, also a teacher in Amelia, who supported her through thirty years of music instruction and rarely missed a program.
The program featured a struggling newspaper trying to increase its readership. A reporter learns about the good news of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem and scoops the story for their newspaper.
Students with lead roles in the production included: Ryan A., Madison B., Brianna G., and Olivia H. Presley P. sang a solo as part of the program.
Mrs. Angie Anderson directed the light and sound production, and Mr. Cooper, the Academy’s art teacher, painted the stage backdrop.
Mr. Duncan; our third grade teacher, said “It was a wonderful program and it put people in the Christmas spirit. It also relayed the true meaning of Christmas.”
